Political Correspondents congratulate new Baze University VC

The National Association of Political Correspondents (NAPOC) has congratulated one of its distinguished members, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria.

Adeniyi was a former Political Correspondent of The Guardian Newspapers.

In a congratulatory message on behalf of the association by the Chairman of the NAPOC Coordinating Committee, Deba Uwadiae, he described the appointment as a proud and historic moment for the entire association and the Nigerian media community.

“The news of your appointment has been received with immense pride and joy across our association, particularly as you are a distinguished and deeply valued member of NAPOC. This is indeed a moment of great celebration for us all,” said Uwadiae.

Uwadiae noted that Professor Adeniyi’s appointment is a fitting recognition of a distinguished career as a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, an accomplished academic administrator, and a consummate professional.

“Professor Adeniyi’s journey from the world of political correspondent and media to the pinnacle of academic administration is an inspiration to every member of NAPOC and to media professionals across Nigeria.

“His appointment as Vice Chancellor of Baze University is a powerful testament to the calibre of professionals that our association produces. We are immensely proud that one of our own has risen to lead a premier institution of higher learning, and his story reaffirms our belief that excellence in journalism and media practice is a foundation for leadership in every sphere of national life.”

The association commended Adeniyi’s exemplary service as Registrar of Baze University, a role in which he demonstrated outstanding administrative acumen, institutional vision, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

NAPOC further acknowledged that Adeniyi’s emergence as Vice Chancellor followed a rigorous and highly competitive selection process, duly approved by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, underscoring the merit and integrity of his appointment.

The association expressed great pride that Professor Adeniyi is one of its own, a respected and active member of NAPOC who has distinguished himself across the fields of journalism, communication scholarship, and academic leadership.
