Four new roles with the Gates Foundation project – two in Lagos and two in Nairobi – are vacant for covering West and East Africa respectively, at the BBC Africa.
In each location, BBC Africa says it is hiring a Senior Journalist reporter and a Journalist to work as part of a small team on a 12-month attachment/FTC.
” You’ll need to be full of ideas for stories and creative treatments that will bring the key issues of water, sanitation and hygiene to life.
” We’re looking for stories that focus on people’s lives and innovative solutions, with a focus on reaching audiences across the continent on digital, social, TV and radio.
“The stories will reach audiences across a host of platforms from our own BBC language services and genre programmes to World news, and Instagram to YouTube.
” These are local roles, so you’ll need to be based in Nigeria or Kenya respectively in order to apply. Deadline Monday 1st February 2021.”
“We also want to work with reporters and teams elsewhere on the continent, so if you’re not eligible for these roles but have a brilliant idea there will be a chance to get involved.
” The advertisement for the London-based Assistant Editor to run the project is here: https://careerssearch.bbc.co.uk/jobs/job/Assistant-Editor-Gates-Foundation-Project-Africa/51877 Deadline for this role is the 24th of January.”
