April 24 deadline for Humanitarian Reporting award

Professional and practicing journalists in Lagos and Ogun State have been invited to enter for the  2014 Humanitarian Reporting Award.

The entry organized by District 9110 of Rotary International, Nigeria is aimed at building strong relationship between Rotary International, media and the general public;  educate  community and open doors for newsworthy humanitarian local stories.

Categories of the awards to be applied for are:

*Peace and Conflict Prevention and Resolution

*Economic and Community Development

*Disease Prevention and Treatment

*Water and Sanitation

* Basic Education and Literacy

*Maternal and Child Health.

Entries for the award will close on April 25, 2014.

Applicants for the award must be a registered member of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) or Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and can also apply for more than one entry.

Participant’s entry must have been published or aired between July 2013 and March 2014 and it must be a story that encourages a call for action.

Other eligibilities include that it must be an international news stories with a local focus and it be subjected to media house’s editor approval.

All entries must be submitted with four copies and sent to Rotary Center, 8 Ladoke Akintol Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
