The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) has invited applications for the Female Journalists Leadership Fellowship (A leadership training and mentorship programme)
Applicants should be female Nigerian professional journalists who have a passion for ethical journalism, are committed to excellent professional media practice, possess great ideas to lead dynamic improvements on the practice and have at least three years’ experience in the newsroom.
Deadline for submission of entries is Wednesday 5 September while the tentative dates for the training programme is Saturday 6 October 2018
The programme supported by Free Press Unlimited is to empower female journalists with the skills, finesse, support and tools to take bold steps that help position them for the highest leadership positions in their various media houses.
The overall objectives of the programme is also to mobilise a network of female journalists oriented on leadership and creating a train-the-trainer team who better appreciate the importance of mainstreaming gender in news.
The exposure will entail a three-day training, three-month mentorship, two fair-shares and fellowship assignments.
Applicants without relevant works but with demonstrated commitment and promise may be considered while those living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
