Oluwalowo named SA Media to Labour minister

Journalist and media entrepreneur, Tosin Oluwalowo has been appointed Special Adviser (Media and Communications) to the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha.

His appointment, which took effect from October 1, 2025, was confirmed in a letter signed by the Minister on October 9, 2025.

As Special Adviser, Oluwalowo will oversee the Minister’s media strategy, stakeholder engagement, and public communication, ensuring consistent, transparent, and strategic messaging across all platforms.

Oluwalowo brings to the position over a decade of experience in journalism, digital media, and newsroom management.

Before his appointment, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Bold Sports, Nigeria’s leading digital sports platform, and Co-founder/CEO of Bold Media Innovations & Creative Hub Limited, a multimedia company focused on innovative media production, digital services, and sports journalism.

Before establishing Bold Sports, he worked as Editor of Western Post, where he led the paper’s transformation into one of the most respected regional publications in South-West Nigeria.

He also worked with The PUNCH Newspaper as a sports correspondent, contributing to the launch of PUNCH Sports Extra and reporting extensively on football, athletics, tennis, and table tennis.

Earlier in his career, he co-founded Sunshine Herald, the pioneer online newspaper in Ondo State, and worked with several other media organisations including Opera News, The Trace News Magazine, and The Nation Newspaper, where he began his journalism journey as a student reporter.

A 2024 FactCheck Africa AI Journalism Fellow, Oluwalowo was also part of the Founder Institute Lagos 2024 cohort, where he successfully graduated after developing and refining the business model for Bold Sports.

 

A graduate of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, where he earned a B.Sc. in Physics, Oluwalowo combines a passion for storytelling with an understanding of digital innovation and media strategy.
