The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the appointed of Dr. Rotimi Williams Olatunji as Acting Dean, Adebola Adegunwa School of Communication.
This appointment made by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa comes from the heel of the successful completion of two terms by outgoing Dean, Professor Lai Oso (2011-2014).
Dr. Olatunji is an expert in Integrated Marketing Communication, with a strong bias towards Advertising as Communication. He joined the service of LASU School of Communication in 2001 as one of the pioneering academic staff of the Faculty in the capacity of Assistant Lecturer.He was appointed Lecturer 2 in June 2004, Lecturer 1 in October 2008 ,Senior Lecturer in June 2009 and Associate Professor, Mass Communication in June 2011.
In 2013, he was a Visiting Associate Professor on sabbatical appointment at the Department of Mass Communication, Kwara State University, Malete.
He was also a two-time Acting Head, Department of Public Relations and Advertising, and Sub-Dean of the same Faculty for over four years respectively .
The don who is a member of numerous global academic and professional bodies attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, where he bagged Bachelor of Arts (B. A) First Class Honours degree in Archaeology, and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan where he received both the M.A. degree in Communication and Language Arts and PhD Communication & Language Arts, specializing in Advertising as Communication.
