DAME invites entries in 22 categories

The Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME) has called for entries in twenty-two categories for its 2019 edition.

The categories according to an announcement by the organizers include Agriculture Reporting, Anti-Corruption Reporting, Best Designed Newspaper, Business Reporting, Insurance Reporting, Investigative Reporting, Judicial Reporting and Lagos Reporting.

Others are Nutritional Reporting, Sports Reporting, News Photography, Editorial Writing, Informed Commentary, Radio Drama, Radio Reporting, Television Drama, Television Documentary and Television Reporting.

Participants are expected to send required materials which must be works published in 2018 headlined 28th Dame and include the links to the published works.

One page profile of the individual/organizations and one-page background information on the entries should be uploaded on www.dameawards.com.

The entry which closes on 17th October 2019 should conform to DAME’S ABCADER principle of Accuracy, Balance, Contextual Analysis, Depth of research,  Engaging use of language and Relevance of the subject.

“It should be noted that a work can only be entered in a category, series will be counted as one, as stated.

“ All entries in the commentary categories (Editorial, Writing and Informed Commentary) will be judged on the basis of the essential sextets: Subjects, Substance, Significance, Structure, Style and Size.”

Dame awards which was launched in 1991 is Africa’s longest media awards programme set to hold its 28th edition.
