A well-established internet newspaper is in need of a suitable journalist to fill in the position of a Managing Editor.
Requirements
- He has done journalism for some time (but LENGTH experience is not the most important criterion)
- Has a mastery of the English language
- Can spot errors in stories
- Can spot the big headline buried somewhere in the body of a reporter’s piece
- Has local and foreign contacts for stories
- Appreciate the value of conscience and integrity to good journalism and will, therefore, operate under the highest ethical standards.

Add to it an essay of not more than 300 words on the topic: Why Should Anyone Take a Journalist Seriously?
Successful Applicant will be required to:
- Track and edit news and other editorial content going on the site
- Make editorial contributions to video content prepared for the site
- Provide Editorial direction to a teach comprising text, photo and video journalists
- Perform other managerial tasks that hold editorial implication of the paper
- Leverage his/her network to uncover breaking stories, exclusives and investigative stories
- Review analyze online statistics (Google analytic, Chartbeat, Alexa etc) to perform decision about editorial operations
- Overseas social media team to ensure consistency with the site
- Perform other related duties as assigned to his/her by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive officer of the newspaper
Note: it doesn’t matter the length of the candidate’s experience if the candidates are male or female, old or young, left school with a pass or Third class
