Thisday creates digital division

THISDAY Newspapers has created a Digital division to recreate the online edition of the paper www.thisdaylive.com
The new division is to be headed by Mbayilan Aondo-akaa who oversees non editorial operations as Divisional Director and with Kola Ologbondiyan as Editor, THISDAY Digital. The Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the company, Nduka Obaigbena in a memo circulated to staff is to be independent of the print edition in content and revenues for THISDAY group.
” Mrs Aondo-akaa will drive the Operations, Technology, Marketing, Advertising and Business Development of the Digital Division including but not limited to all online products, e-paper, THISDAY Mobile, newsletters, news alerts, THISDAY apps and other new technology and digital platforms ensuring that THISDAY content is available across ALL PLATFORMS.
” Mr. Victor Ojogun will become Deputy Divisional Director, in charge of Technical Services and Support ensure that there is round-the-clock technical support;
” The Editorial team headed by Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan. They will ensure the regular update of the online edition as the site of reference for breaking news. THISDAYlive to be edited and published 24 Hours a day with major updates at least four times a day with BREAKING NEWS updated in the instant as they happen.”
