This year, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) will continue its tradition of recognising outstanding journalism across various media formats, including print, online, photojournalism, editorial cartooning, television, and radio.

The award celebrates investigative reporting that delves into issues of public and corporate corruption, exposes human rights violations, and highlights regulatory abuses in Nigeria.

Eligible stories must be newsworthy, investigative in nature, and have the potential to uncover or prevent clandestine activities and corruption in both the public and private sectors while promoting human rights.

A panel of media experts and industry professionals will rigorously assess the entries using WSCIJ’s meticulous award coding and vetting system.

The judging process will evaluate submissions based on several criteria, including the quality of the investigation, the strength of the evidence presented, the incorporation of human rights elements, adherence to ethical reporting standards, journalistic courage, individual creativity, the level of public interest, tangible impact, and overall presentation.
