According to Odeyinka, the last administration contributed to the growth of journalism on the University campus and revived moribund local press organisations.

“It also organised numerous training in which some of the best brains in the journalism space trained our members. The union also helped members transition to mainstream journalism, through helping with pitches and securing reporting commissions,” he stated.

He promised that the new administration will try its best to sustain and build on past achievements.

One of his plans is to organize a media tour for members of the union which he believes would help expose them to the everyday activities of a media organisation.
