Photo Journalist and Cinematographer, Gbemile Oluwatosin has emerged winner of the Innovators Award Competition in the MEDIAGIG2020 training for media professionals.

Organized by The CoBuilders with Media Career Development Network, the theme of the four weeks virtual workshops was Deploying Technology for Impact and Profitability in the Nigeria media industry.

Oluwatosin who is a photojournalism instructor and lecturer at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos topped entries for the competition evaluated by a team of judges for ideas that passes the test of innovative thinking.

He will be awarded  N200,000 cash grant for his initiative.

His project would leverage modern technology to improve the quality of photojournalism and photo marketing through theoretical and hands-on and photo marketing.

Founder of The Co-Builders, Bukola Michael Nelson congratulated and commended Oluwatosin for his tenacity and commitment to ensuring the success of his project.

Responding to winning the award, Oluwatosin said he was grateful to God for the grace to the first to win the first edition of the competition and commended the organisers and facilitators.

“The workshop and competition is an innovation in the era of new normal for deploying technology for teaching, reaching, researching, training and re-training professionals in the media industry.,” he said.

He promised to justify winning the award by ensuring the success of his project.

The CoBuilders is devoted to community building and personal development with a focus on global connectedness, innovation, and sustainability.
