Media Career Development Network and  The Cobuilders Academy are set to hold a series of virtual workshops designed to equip media professionals with the knowledge and skills for sustainable and profitable innovation in the media industry.

Oyinlola Awonuga reports that the Theme for the virtual workshop is Deploying Technology for Impact and Profitability in the Nigerian Media Industry.
The workshops in four sessions are as follows:
Wednesday, July 1, 2020  (9 am to 11 am PST, 5 pm-7 pm GMT+1)
 
Workshop 1-The Current State of Media in Nigeria Benchmarking.
 
In this session, participants will be involved in an exercise to benchmark the media industry in Nigeria against one country each from other continents. The purpose of this exercise is to ascertain the current state of the Nigerian media and to determine its strengths and weaknesses and its opportunities and threats.

Workshop 2-Mental Awareness in Times of Great Change
Date: Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 (9am to 11am PST, 5pm-7pm GMT+1)

Moving from one state of operation to another usually comes with some mental and emotional pressure. In this workshop, participants will be provided with tools to identify and manage stress during uncertainties and to leverage stress for innovation and creativity. Participants will also be given tools to develop mental toughness required to reinvent current processes and cultural roadblocks without burning out.

Workshop 3-Skills and Outlook for the New Media Age

Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 (9am to 11am PST:5pm-7pm GMT+1)

Tools and skills are important for advancement. Here, participants will be taken through modules of training in technologies such as web development, SEO and Search Engine, content (text and video) marketing, self-service platforms, review services, e-commerce, membership sites, online editorial, and advertising, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, information technology strategies, ICT, trend convergence, innovators’ mindset, cloud technologies, coding and programming, technological barriers and how to circumvent them, waiting for innovation to take root, etc.

Workshop 4:Career and Project Development
Friday, July 17th, 2020 (9am to 11am PST, 5pm-7pm GMT+1)

In this workshop, participants will be entered into a contest for N200,000 investment into an idea that that passes the test of innovative thinking.

Participants have to Sign Up for a CoBuilders Account to post their projects on The CoBuilders Platform. Judges will review the projects on the Find Opportunities page. The selected project will be supported by CoBuilders in the amount of the award.
