In commemoration of the 2019 World Television Day marked on November 21, our reporter, Oyinlola Awonuga, sought the views of a cross-section of persons on their best television station and programme.
From the responses, there are indications that many people no longer watch traditional television programmes as they used to do.
Some prefer to watch some special programmes online instead of local television.
Below are their responses:
Ayo Emmanuel Ojo an On-Air Personnel in Wellsradio Ibadan said his best television station is TVC Entertainment and favourite programmes are Good Morning Nigeria and Your View.”
Ojo advised television stations to own YouTube channels as people have moved to watch television on YouTube.
“Government should also invest more in their broadcasting institutions and MITV can also work on its content. Silverbird Television (STV) is stepping back too they can improve on their content as content is one of the easiest things to get if you can fund and hire the right talents,” he said.

“I have two. The first is Channels television and I love to watch their Art house, business and politics programme. TVC is my second and I love their, news generally and documentaries.”
“Also, on this significant day I wish MITV will imitate, and stop being local,” he said.

“I really don’t watch Television but maybe super sports, whenever I just want to watch,” he said.

Margaret Adesanya, however, said, “I’m not a TV person but, if not Zeeworld, Mahek is the program. Then “Your View” on TVC I think that’s the only program I watch,”
