Entries have been invited for the 27th edition of the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME).
in a statement, DAME invited entries for works published in 2017 in various categories for both print and broadcast journalism.
Agriculture Reporting, Best Designed Newspaper, Business Reporting, Child-Friendly Reporting, Child-Friendly Media, and Editorial Cartooning are some categories listed under Print Media.
Others include Editorial Writing, Editorial Integrity, Informed Commentary, Insurance Reporting, Investigative Reporting, Judicial Reporting, Lagos Reporting, Nutrition Reporting, Sports Reporting, News Photography, Newspaper of the Year and Editor of the Year.
In the broadcast medium, however, the categories up for entries are Editorial Integrity, Radio Drama, Radio Reporting, Radio Presenting, Television Drama, Television Documentary, and Television Reporting.
According to the statement, all entry materials must be marked ‘27th DAME’ and submitted on or before Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Submission guidelines are on : www.dameawards.com.
“A work,” reads the statement, “can only be entered in one category,” adding that only two entries are allowed per applicant.
DAME, first held in 1992, is a not-for-profit Trust established to enhance professionalism in the Nigerian media.
It has held 26 uninterrupted annual awards presentations to date.
