Managing Director and Editor- in- Chief of New Telegraph Newspapers, Mrs Funke Egbemode has been elected as the Acting President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
She was elected on Saturday during the second quarterly meeting of the Guild held in Abuja.
Egbemode’s election followed vacancy created by the exit of the former President, Alhaji Garba Deen Muhammed has been appointed Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Muhammad’s predecessor, Femi Adesina was also appointed as the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity.
Before her appointment at the New Telegraph, Egbemode was Sunday Editor at Sun and has also worked at The Punch and THISDAY Newspapers.
She also served as the Special Adviser on Media to a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Etteh.
