After rigorous screening, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has added 113 new members into its fold. The new members were chosen from over 300 applications submitted to the institute last year.

Speaking at the induction, the Vice President/Vice Chairman of Council of NIPR, Mr. Mukhar Z. Sirajo, declared that machinery have been put in place, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies, to curb the profession of quarks.

He admonished the inductees to make truth their watchword in the discharge of their official duties.

In his remark, the President/Vice Chairman of the Council of NIPR, Dr. Rotimi Oladele, called on inductees to ensure that they project the positive image of the Institute and country.

The president who led the inductees to take the oath of office enjoined PR practitioners in the country to start including their membership number in every official correspondence.

The induction which was held at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja was preceded by an annual lecture delivered by Dr. Chris Osuji.

The lecture with the theme, Effective Communication as a Change Agent in Restoring Nigeria’s Global Image, was instituted in honour of the first President of the institute, Sam Epelle.

The guest lecturer affirmed that PR practitioners are better positioned to rebrand Nigeria’s image around the world.
