Online Editor ( Hausa) of Leadership Newspapers, Bashir Ahmed has been named Personal Assistant, New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ahmed confirmed his appointment in a tweet on his Twitter handle @BashirAmaad on Thursday.
” Please to announce that I have been appointed by President Muhammadu @MBuhari as his Personal Assistant, New Media,” Ahmed wrote.
A 2013 graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University, Ahmad was former online editor and reporter at Rariya Hausa Newspaper.
Ahead of announcing his appointment, Ahmad who has already resumed work had the following two tweets :
” Ya Allah, remove all the arrogance and selfishness from my heart, and teach me to be humble, to always remember You in everything that I do.

” Ya Allah, I want to take a minute, not to ask for anything from you. But simply to say thank you, for all I have. Alhamdulillah!”

In July, 2015, it was speculated that journalist and social media activist, Tolu Ogunlusi will be named Special Adviser, New Media to Buhari.

Ogunlusi is now Strategic Communications Adviser to the Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment.
