Workshop: Calling online journalists, bloggers

Online journalists and bloggers engaged interested in reporting governance and electoral issues ahead the 2019 elections have been invited by the International Press Centre (IPC) to apply  to apply to attend a two-day workshop on conflict sensitive reporting.
The workshop, supported by the EU under Component 4b: Support to the media of the EU Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) project, seeks to build a professional media as catalysts of democratic accountability, credible elections and good governance.
The first phase of the workshop scheduled for Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31, 2018 in Ibadan, is open to participation for about 30 online journalists/bloggers drawn from Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun and environs.
The thrust of the workshop according to a statement by IPC  is to build the capacity of online journalists/bloggers in using online media for fair, balanced, language sensitive and conflict sensitive reporting of the elections.
It will focus on building the capacity of participants on professional and conflict sensitive reporting of the electoral processes. The workshop shall also focus on ways to mitigate hate speech.
Transport token, per deim and accommodation shall be provided for selected participants from outside Ibadan, while participants from Ibadan shall be entitled to token transport at the approved rates.
