Female journalists have been advised to belong to relational groups in their organizations to be more effective at work and ensure their career growth.
The advice was offered by panellists at a session at the Social Media Week Lagos which ended on February 8, 2019.
Funke Treasure, Assistant Director for programmes, Radio Nigeria charged female colleagues to be strategic in the closed small groups they belong to in their respective organizations.
She added that women should engage themselves in little things that go on in their organization which will invariably make them visible.
Another panellist, Funke Osai Brown, Publisher Luxury Reporter said female journalists should take advantage of online resources that will aid them to rise above their current positions at work.
According to her, women should be consistent on their social media platforms for their voices be heard.
She urged young women in the media to be willing to work for free at the start of their career to create more opportunities for them.
The panellists admonished women not to be silent wherever they find themselves but should learn to speak up concerning any issue.
