Radio Now is a public service media company focused on delivering accurate and balanced Nigeria-focused programming. We exist to hold power accountable and help Nigerians be better informed, and involved citizens.
Now more than ever, Nigerians need information they can trust, delivered in formats they can access.
Although our primary medium is radio broadcast, we’re very interested in creating for and distributing through digital channels including podcasts, social media, and our website.
This is where you come in.
We are looking for a Web Editor to research, plan, develop and implement high-quality web content that attracts an audience while keeping in line with our values. The right candidate has not given up on Nigeria. They are a digital native, with a strong grasp of best SEO practices and a passion for telling accurate, impactful stories. Our Web Editor is interested in using the web for good and adheres to journalistic ethics.
Compensation for the role is competitive.
Responsibilities
- Create, produce and manage high-quality web content
- Adhere to SEO rules
- Regularly check and track content for accuracy
- Comply with copyright and privacy regulations
- Edit, proofread and suggest improvements to written content
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of journalists, digital marketers, and producers
- Determine and track important KPIs
- Track and analyze website’s traffic
You would be a great fit for this role if you have:
- previous working experience as a writer or editor
- excellent research, writing, proofreading and editing skills
- solid knowledge of best SEO practices and tools
- an obsession with fact-checking for accuracy
- creative storytelling skills
- good organizational and time-management skills
- familiarity with WordPress backend
- faith in Nigeria
This is a full-time, in-office role, and you’ll report directly to the Editor. The successful candidate will ideally be located in Lagos or able to relocate here.
