US Consulate, MCDN hold panel discussion on press freedom

As part of activities to mark the World Press Freedom Day 2022, the Media Career Development Network (MCDN), with the support of the U.S. Consulate General will hold a panel discussion on the theme: “Journalism Under Digital Siege: The Digital Era’s Impact on Freedom of Expression, Safety of Journalists and Access to Information.”

 

The panel session is part of the press freedom month-long activities by the Consulate organised by MCDN

 

Panellists at the discussion scheduled to hold on Tuesday, May 24 will include:

  • Dr. Tunde Akanni, Associate Professor of Journalism and Director of Digital Media Research Centre, Lagos State University
  • Mr. Fisayo Soyombo, Founder, Foundation for Investigative Journalism
  • Ms. Adesola Ayo-Aderele, former Editor of Online and Digital Operations, The Punch Newspaper
  • Mr. Kunle Sanyaolu, Editorial Page Editor, The Guardian Newspaper
  • Ms. Wemimo Adewuni, Broadcast Journalist, Nigeria Info 99.3 FM (Moderator)

 

The venue of the programme starting at 11 am is the Ikeja American Corner, Courier Plus Compound (inside former Concord Newspaper premises), Airport Road, Ikeja.
