NestHogins is seeking an outstanding journalist and curious reporter to join our community news team.
We are looking for a digitally-savvy journalist who can move quickly and independently to turn stories on everything from crime to community news to everyday living in Lagos to just about anything that breaks in the evening. Accuracy and clean writing on tight deadlines are essential.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a diploma or degree and some journalism experience. We are looking for applicants who have solid news judgment, strong social media skills, and the ability to track down sources on short notice. The ability to juggle multiple stories produce a variety of content both quickly and accurately, and change gears based on a variety of factors, including audience demand, is essential.

We are an ambitious news organization with high standards, and we need a self-motivated reporter who can do it all – from dailies and compelling narratives to investigations and data-driven journalists. We want a good deal of community news reporting – serious, probing enterprise journalism that identifies trends, unearths important topics, exposes wrongdoing, and spotlights achievements. We want watchdog journalism. We want storytelling.
We need a reporter who is aggressive but not arrogant, who is confident but works collaboratively with editors.

Requirements:
1+ years of experience as a content writer or in a related role
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong research skills
Capable of creatively developing interviews that will inform, enlighten, and entertain audiences.
Must be capable of working long hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
A desire to pursue news lines with strong editorial judgment.
