Creation Hub in partnership with Make-IT in Africa, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has officially announces the six Student-led Startups for the Uninnovators’ Startups-in-Residence programme.
The programme is designed to inspire innovations in selected tertiary institutions in Africa – namely, University of Ibadan (Nigeria), University of Lagos (Nigeria), University of Nairobi (Kenya), Riara University (Kenya), University of Namibia (Namibia) and Namibia University of Science and Technology (Namibia).
Thirty Start-up teams (from 256 entries) were selected earlier in August (2023) with an initial 6-week design sprint to help strengthen their pitch and innovation prior to the Demo Day. The event was graced by a total of 79 attendees including Judges, Private sector, academia and media partners.
Managing Partner, CcHUB Creative Economy, Ojoma Ochai gave the welcome address. In her remark, The Deputy Vice Chancellor (University of Lagos), Prof Ayodele Atsenuwa lauded the event and recommended that Higher Education Institutions leverage on structures put in place by innovation centers such as CcHUB and not compete with them.
