It was joy all the way as University of Ibadan DIAMOND F.M Radio Station Manager, Paul Anthony Emokhare successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
Dr. Emokhare who worked on “Management Structure and Programme Output of Campus Radio Stations in Federal Universities in South West Nigeria” was supervised by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Benjamin Olumuyiwa Popoola.
Reacting after a marathon viva examination of his work by a panel of scholars including Prof. Oyeyinka Oyewo of University of Ibadan, Dr. Emokhare described the scholarly enterprise as “very rich and rewarding”
According to him, “My supervisor, Prof. Popoola was very thorough and painstaking with time consciousness. He would call me in the middle of night and ask me to look at a particular aspect of the work with a view to improving on it. Prof. Popoola really assisted me with the way he mounted pressure on me”
More importantly, Dr. Emokhare said, “Ajayi Crowther University is a place to be for a doctoral study. This university is great. The environment is conducive, the distance to Ibadan is short and the lecturers are disciplined, you know this is a faith-based University raising Godly intellectuals”
“I am so delighted that I started this programme and I concluded it. You can’t be working in a place like UI without developing yourself ” Dr. Emokhare added.
Dr. Emokhare is a broadcast journalist who had worked for years in Radio Nigeria before joining the University of Ibadan as Station Manager.
Other academics at the viva examination were, Dean of Post Graduate School, Prof J.O. Ayodabo, Internal External, Dr Imot Obot, and Faculty Dean, Prof O.A. Alabi.
