Security Award for The Guardian

Based on the paper’s selfless disposition in the coverage of security and safety issues, The Guardian has been selected as the winner of the Best Security and safety Conscious Newspaper in West Africa.

The award won by The Guardian according to a statement signed by Patrick Agbambu, Chief Executive Officer and Henk Koster, Member, Board of Trustees, Security Watch Africa is “based on the dedication of valuable print space to the promotion of security and safety. Also for been a prime mover in the entrenchment of peace, security and safety through publications in Nigeria.”

The award will be received by The Guardian during the 10th Security Watch Africa Awards on November 6th-8th, 2013 at the Indaba Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa, Fourways, and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Before now, the awards hosted by Security Watch Africa were held in Nigeria (2004-2008), Ghana (2009), South Africa (2010), The Gambia(2011) and Ghana (2012)
