Editor of Abuja-based Peoples Daily (weekend) newspaper, Malam Lawan Sabo has been appointed as the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Triumph Publishing Company.
His appointment by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba, and issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kano.
Triumph Publishing Company, the publishers of Triumph Newspapers, was closed down in 2012.
The statement quoted Ganduje as saying that the appointment was part of his efforts to revive the outfit.
The new Managing Director, who holds a Master’s Degree in English Language from Bayero University, Kano, worked with the Triumph Newspaper as a senior reporter and, later as an Assistant Group News Editor, from 1998-2003.
He also worked with Kano State Polytechnic as a lecturer, from 2003-2009.
Before moving to the Peoples Daily in 2014, Sabo had worked with the Leadership, Blueprint and National Trail Newspapers as Editor, Associate Editor and Editor respectively, from 2009-2014.
