A Kano based veteran journalist, public relations consultant and community leader, Prince Ajayi Memaiyetan clocked 76 years on October 5, 2018.
A member of British Institutes of Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing, Prince Ajayi Memaiyetan was trained by the International Press Institute (IPI) at the University of Nairobi, Kenya under the sponsorship of Ford Foundation of America.
According to a press release by Adbiz Press Services, Memaiyetan holds honoris Causa Ph.D degree of the World University, Desert Campus (Round Table) Arizona in U.S.A.
A former foreign Correspondent of national newspapers, magazines and news agencies, he covered Nigerian civil war, peace talks in Ethiopia and Uganda before becoming the Managing Editor of Kano State Government owned Newspaper – The Triumph between 1983 to 84.
He was the pioneer Kano State Chairman of Professional/Industrial Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the first State Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) of which he is a fellow.
Prince Memaiyetan who is the managing consultant of a PR outfit-Adbiz Press limited, is also a renowned Community leader and Director General of an NGO, Strategic Powerful Information Network SPIN-Publisher of Popular Civil Society Monthly Newsletter promoting democracy, Ethics, Free Press and Development.
He holds many professional, national, community and international awards including Elder statesman of journalism by NUJ correspondent chapel, Kano state; National Presidential Public Relations Excellence award; Rotary International premier’s club award for professional Excellence and International Institute of Journalism IIJ lecturer’s award.
