Al Jazeera Fellowship Program. Deadline: November 30, 2024

The Al Jazeera Media Institute is seeking applications for its Al Jazeera Fellowship Program. Journalists or researchers interested in researching and developing their knowledge in specific fields in media and journalism can apply for this opportunity to write a 7,000-word research paper on selected fields of journalism 

The fellowship programmes offered by the Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI) seek to encourage research in media and other fields of journalism and provide fellows with the opportunity to learn through practical experience within the Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN).

Successful candidates will learn through first-hand experience of working with the team within AJMN and experience the working environment.

Women Climate Change Reporters Training. Deadline: November 28, 2024

The African Climate Policy Center is offering the Women Climate Change Reporters online training course, for women journalists across Africa, specialising in climate change.

The training aims to deliver virtual training to strengthen the capacity of women climate change reporters in the African region. 

The online course between December 2 and 20 is designed for women journalists across Africa, regardless of age, working in all media types, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms.

Thomson Reuters Journalism Internship. Deadline: December 15 2024

Students or recent graduates with a strong interest in journalism can apply for paid internships.

The Thomson Reuters Journalism Internship program is accepting applications for its 2025 summer cycle. Most internships are in its New York, Mexico City, London, Nairobi and Singapore. Internships last approximately 12 weeks.

The programs are crash courses in business, political and general news reporting. Interns will receive several days of formal training before they start work. Every intern will report to a senior editor and be assigned a journalist mentor who will be available to provide advice and guidance.

NotebookLM is an AI-powered note-taking and research assistance tool. It can help journalists keep materials and resources relevant to their current investigation or production in one place. Powered by Google’s Gemini 1.5, NotebookLM can be used by journalists to upload PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, audio files, Google Docs, or Google Slides to later be queried for relevant information and insights.
