The Media Career Development Network has launched a media product for media professionals to develop their media career capacity through tailored and structured mentorship and community support.
The media product, Media Mastery Network, launched at the Media Career Development Conference targets career-conscious media professionals at different levels who have set career development goals.
Aspiring and student journalists, early career journalists who subscribe to the media product can benefit from onboarding into the media space through the career guidance and one-to-one mentorship of a senior professional.
Mid-career or even senior-level practising journalists can also benefit from the network through the core area development training and coaching on topics like News product development, newsroom leadership and management and career progression.
The MMN will provide support for achieving the set goals through the facilitation of structured mentorship, hands-on training and coaching from paired mentors and community support from MCDN for the achievement of the goals.
Eunice Ayobami, the product manager, noted that the Media Career Development Network will also take up the role of accountability partner for members of the Media Mastery Network to ensure that they not only achieve their set goals for the program but also become an all-round better media professional.
