The Election Committee of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, has released names of candidates cleared and disqualified for election into the Executive Council and the Standing Committee, holding during the Biennial Convention scheduled for May 03- 05 2019 in Lagos.
The list for the election was contained in a press release issued on April 24 by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Gbemiga Ogunleye following a meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Editors’ House, Ikeja to screen nominations.
In carrying out its assignment, Ogunleye said the Committee followed strictly, the provisions of the amended 2016 NGE Constitution and the Election Guidelines.
The Committee requested all contestants: both those cleared to contest and those yet-to-be cleared to appear before it at 10am on Friday, May 03, 2019, at the Airport Hotel, Lagos, venue of the Biennial Convention, with original copies of their letters of appointment as editors for verification.
The list of candidates cleared, not-yet-cleared and disqualified are as follows:
