The opportunity is open to all mid-career journalists and writers in Nigeria, with consideration to applicants from anywhere within Africa.
The Liberalist Centre is a Nigeria-based pro-freedom think tank and educational center that promotes pro-freedom ideas for human flourishing.
Selected applicants for the fellowship will become regular contributors to the center’s news magazine by publishing investigative stories, in-depth features, and engaging op-ed articles that inform and reveal ways through which individual liberty and the free market are impeded.
According to a statement released by the organization, grants would be awarded to fellows whose story ideas are accepted.
“Secure funding to turn your journalistic ideas into reality. Whether it’s investigative reporting, multimedia storytelling, or community engagement projects, we’ve got you covered,”the statement reads in part.
Also, as part of the benefits of the fellowship, selected applicants would have access to training and mentorship from industry experts and seasoned journalists through tailored workshops, including a two-day physical training programme.
The deadline for the application is 1st April 2024.
The Liberalist Centre kicked off the Journalism for Liberty Fellowship in 2022 which lasted for six months before the second cohort in 2023.
