Former Lagos State governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande has hinted of plans to revive the publication of his rested newspaper, Lagos News on Mondays.
He disclosed the plan in an interview with Saturday Punch during which he attributed the stoppage of the publication to economic reasons.
Alhaji Jakande, a veteran journalist noted that journalism practice in the country has improved over the years.
“Our journalism practice and profession compare favourably with that of any other country in the democratic world.”
He said he would like to be remembered for the free education he introduced during his tenure in Lagos state through which many indigenes and non indigenes got educated and have achieved greatness in life.
Asked if he has any regrets in life, Jakande said “I have no regrets. On the contrary, I am forever grateful to God for His mercy and blessings throughout my life.”
