Three Nigerian journalists who have made their mark in the Nigerian media space with outstanding performance have moved on to international media platforms.
They took to their social media pages to share the good news have expressed their joy and enthusiasm for their new roles while being celebrated by their fellows.
Samad Uthman a multi-award-winning multimedia investigative journalist who was formerly with TheCable Newspaper as a Multimedia Journalist has joined Agence France Press (AFP) as Digital Investigations Journalist.
Samad who had earlier in January announced his departure at TheCable took to his LinkedIn and Twitter page today announcing his new employment.
“I am glad to announce that I have joined the AFP ‘s FactCheck team as a Digital investigations journalist.” He said while also celebrating the screening of his 2023 documentary “Agbo: Poison or Remedy” on the alarming connections between Agbo and Kidney failure cases in Nigeria at FIPADOC – International Documentary Festival in Paris.
Samad had worked with other investigative media platforms like ICIR and Dataphyte before joining TheCable in 2022 and was a joint winner of the Wameca 2021 West Africa Journalist of the Year, a first in the history of the award, his co-winner was Kwetey Nartey of Ghana

Dada Bamishe a multimedia journalist and documentarian was among those who changed ship this year. The journalist known for his persistent work documenting pertinent stories as it concern local communities shared his new role on LinkedIn on Thursday saying:
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Report Writer /Editor at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) a member of Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).”
Bamishe is a journalist, documentarian and communication expert who has worked with The Insight Africa Media as a communication Specialist, Royal FM 95.1, Royal Times online and Royal Television in Kwara State as Head, News and Digital Media and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria as a presenter. Over the past decade, Bamishe has been a renowned journalist in the Kwara State and environs being a senior correspondent and anchor for African Broadband Limited’s Royal FM, Television and Newspaper.
Moses Emorinken is another Nigerian journalist joining another media platform this year. The multi-award-winning journalist shared his new role as a Communication and Knowledge Management expert at Media Insight on his LinkedIn page last week
Moses is a journalist who has worked with the Centre for Communications and Social Impact (CCSI) and Nations Newspaper, covering issues around health, and finance and has several awards to his belts.
He was the Winner, Child Friendly Reporting Category of the DAME Award 2022, Runner Up, Features Writing Category and First Runner Up for Nutrition Reporting Category of the NMMA Award and DAME Awards, 2023 respectively and some others.
