A new newspaper, Iroyin Owuro has hit the newsstand.
The newspaper, which was unveiled last December published in Yoruba language is a general news medium with bias for socioeconomic and cultural development of the Yoruba and Nigerians.
According to the publisher, Mr Yinka Alabi, the need to have a newspaper help yoruba communities up-to-date information inspired him to establish it.
Alabi noted that: “Yoruba language and culture are very important. We have noted that things are no longer at ease with our indigenous languages. So, on the one hand, we must continue to project them and initiate projects that will make them come alive.”
“On the other hand, we believe that none of the Yoruba newspapers already in circulation do not follow news the way those in English do. They do not give up-to-date information on politics, economy, education, culture and other areas. This is the gap Iroyin Owuro will bridge,” Alabi said.
