NativeAI, a platform designed specifically for Nigerian newsrooms and media professionals, has been launched by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR). The platform offers automated transcription and translation tools that recognise and respect local accents and languages.
The new AI-powered model launched on September 11 is designed to transcribe audiovisual into text and translate it into three major Nigerian languages – Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.
