Young journalists from around the world who want to make a huge impact in their countries can apply for the 2019 Climate Tracker Reporting Fellowship and enjoy the rare privilege of attending/covering the UN Climate Action Summit in New York.

Selection Criteria

Interested journalists are required to publish a story about a movement or the young people who are making climate action a reality.

The top eight (8) writers will be selected to attend and cover the Global Climate Strike, the UN Youth Climate Summit, the UN Climate Action Summit, and other events happening in New York City between 19th – 26th September, 2019.

Additional Benefits

Successful fellows will also receive training on climate and journalism organized by Climate Tracker and the Stanley Foundation. They will also participate in group interviews with high-level officials and thought leaders from all over the world.

Requirements:

Each participant can either pitch a published article, a photo essay or video.

For video and photo essays, you are required to profile great climate activists or marches and get it published in the media.

Published articles should not be less than 500 words. You are advised to interview a minimum of two persons for your article. They may include community members, experts, policy makers or young people behind the movement.

Including a relevant photo to your story is advisable.

The Climate Tracker Reporting Fellowship 2019 is open to journalists between the ages of 18 and 32.
