‘CBI News App to redefine African storytelling ‘

CBI News Mobile App, a new digital platform designed to revolutionize how news and information are created, shared, and experienced across Africa and beyond has been launched in Lagos.

The app was officially unveiled on Friday, November 7, 2025 by CBI Digital Media, marking what the company’s Managing Director, Gbenga Adebija, described as “a defining moment” in the organization’s journey toward digital media transformation.

Adebija said that the new platform underlines the company’s commitment to telling authentic African stories with credibility, creativity, and global relevance.

He explained that the app, which complements CBI News, the company’s 24/7 news station, aims to deepen audience engagement and extend its reach within and outside the continent.

He credited the achievement to the visionary leadership of Emperor Chris Baywood Ibe, founder and Group Chief Executive of CBI Digital Media, whose belief that Africa must “own its narrative” continues to shape the company’s direction.

According to the founder, CBI News exists for young journalists and media professionals who are passionate about telling the truth but lacks the right platforms to do so.

“We are entering a future where African stories are told by Africans, with excellence,”  hevsaid.

Beyond the app, the digital company hinted at upcoming initiatives designed to further redefine the media and technology landscape, aligning with the organisation’s vision of a fully integrated pan-African media empire.
