Head of New Technology desk for BusinessDay Media Limited, Frank Eleanya has been named as the winner of the invitation by the African Press Organisation Group (APO) to attend the Web Summit (https://WebSummit.com), the Largest Tech Conference in the World, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 5 to 8.

APO Group, will offer one round trip ticket and accommodation in Lisbon for Frank Eleanyao to attend the Web Summit.

The Web Summit is the largest tech conference in the world with 1.200 speakers and over 70.000 delegates from 170 countries gathering for three full days of networking and business.

Over 2.500 journalists from more than 100 markets came to Web Summit in 2017, including editors from many of the world’s most influential publications, as well as market-shaping industry reporters from leading technology trade publications and blogs.

In his biography Frank wrote “ I have been instrumental in the development and growth of a tech desk that highlights the activities in the evolving Nigerian technology ecosystem. Today I responsible for two tech-centric pages namely Tech Talk and Fintech. My interest in technology also spans blockchain and cryptocurrencies. With my help, BusinessDay is the foremost media house that features blockchain stories on the frontpage.

“ My journey into media started in 2010 as an intern reporter for Business Eye, a weekly magazine. I left at the end of the internship to join a non-governmental organisation, ZODML, which provides free library services to communities in Nigeria. I was part of their online and research team.

“ Since leaving ZODML I have worked for several organisations as a freelance writer. I also contributed opinion pieces to some notable media firms including Punch Newspaper, Premium Times, Sahara Reporters, YNaija, just to mention a few. “ In 2015 I was among the winners of Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy (SYPALA) organised by the IMANI Centre for Policy and Education. From August 25-29, 2015 I and nine other winners from different parts of Africa were in Ghana for a one week of leadership training.”
