The management of Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) has appointed Mr. Kemi Busari as Editor of Dubawa.
Busari disclosed his appointment in his updated work experience on Facebook.
The investigative journalist joined Premium Times as a reporter in August 2017 and was promoted to Senior Reporter in April 2018.
His journey into journalism began in December 2011 as a Campuslife Reporter for the Campuslife page of The Nation Newspapers, which he did for about four years.
He moved on to freelance for National Mirror Newspaper for more than eight years.
Busari, a 2013 Political Science graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, recently bagged a Master’s degree in Journalism and Media at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Europe.
Before his new role, he had served as the National Assembly (Senate) correspondent of Premium Times.
Awards he has won include the Free Press Unlimited’s Newcomer of the Year-Hans Verploeg Award, PwC Media Excellence Award, Promasidor Quill Award and Nigerian Writers Award
Dubawa is the fact-checking project of PTCIJ aiming to institute a culture of truth and verification in public discourse and journalism through strategic partnerships between the media, government, civil society organisations, technology giants and the public.
