The Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun and multiple-award-winning journalist, Adejuwon Soyinka has announced his movement to the British Broadcasting Corporation as Editor. His movement comes after working for two years as the media aide to Amosun.
Adejuwon, before his appointment as media aide, was the Deputy General Editor and a member of the Editorial Board of the TELL Magazine, Lagos.
He announced his movement to BBC through a Facebook post titled: “Memo from a Grateful Heart” on Saturday to his 4,967 friends.
“As I stepped down from office as the Senior Special Assistant on Media to His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, I looked behind and ahead and all I can say is thank you Lord.
“Thank you Lord, for the journey ahead because it promises to be exciting and fulfilling working as Editor at the BBC,” the grateful Adejuwon noted.
The 40-year-old indigene of Ogun state holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in History and International Relations and Diploma in Law from the Lagos State University, in 2005 and 2000 respectively.
He also has an Ordinary National Diploma in Journalism and Certificate in Basic News Writing and Reporting from the Nigeria Institute of Journalism in 1999.
Among the numerous awards bagged by Adejuwon are Nigerian Media Merit Awards as Foreign News Reporter in 2013 snd Human Rights Reporter in 2012, Print Journalist and Human Rights Reporter of the Year 2011.
Others include the Wole Soyinka Prize for Investigative Reporting (Climate Change Reporting Category) in 2010 and the Diamond Award for Media Excellence (DAME) Capital Market Reporting Award in 2009.
He is a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE).
