AI platform for African journalists, digital creators/storytellers

Assistant Production Editor (Podcast), SciDev.Net, Sub-Saharan Africa English Edition, Titilope Fadare has launched a Generative AI Journalism with TiTi platform to teach African journalists and digital creators/storytellers how to integrate AI into their workflow.

According to Fadare, she has spent the last few months “building something for African journalists who want more than just survival in the newsroom, juggling multiple tasks daily.”

”I see you. I was you until I discovered how AI can be instrumental. That’s why I created Generative AI Journalism with Titi, a space where we learn how to use AI tools to work faster, tell stories better, and stay true to our ethics and voice,” she explained in a LinkedIn post announcing the platform.

”I’ll be sharing practical tips, real examples, and tools that make sense for how we work. If you’re tired of doing everything the hard way, and you’re ready for smarter tools that help, this is a space you’ll want to keep an eye on.”

In the debut episode of Ask ChatGPT,  Fadare sat down with her new AI guest named Folake, in a later episode to unpack a question journalists across Africa keep asking:

“Is AI here to replace us… or help us?”

We also talked about:

* What’s left for journalists to do in the AI era

*What responsible AI use looks like in African newsrooms

* Can AI understand nuance and local context?

*What roles can AI and Newsroom do differently?

This episode is honest, witty, and deeply relevant for every journalist navigating the shift to AI.
