The new President of the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University (ACJOAU), Oluwafemi Olabode has promised to uphold the legacy of the previous administration of the union.
He made the pledge at the inauguration of the 52nd Executive Council of the association on Friday, July 26th, 2024 on the campus.
Olabode, a 400-level student of Political Science who also served as the Public Relations Officer in the 51st administration in his inaugural speech appreciated the previous administration for a job well done.
‘ACJOAU is in good hands,’ he said.
The inauguration of the 52nd Administration followed the dissolution of the 51st Administration led by Gbolahan Latinwo.
In his farewell message, the erstwhile President appreciated members of the 51st Executive Council for their cooperation and teamwork spirit that made the administration a successful
Latinwo also appreciated the members of the association for their support and also encouraged them to continue to give their support in full to the 52nd Administration.
The Chairman of the Electoral, Adekunle Famuyiwa commended the members of the Electoral Committee for their efforts in conducting a free and fair election.
He thereby led the elected members of the Executive council of the association in saying their oath of service and also swore them in as members of the Executive council.

Awards of Excellence and Certificates were also presented to celebrate and appreciate members of the association for their outstanding performances during the 2022/2023 Academic Session and efforts in covering events and writing reports.
The winner and runner-ups of the Adejumo Kabir Essay contest were also announced at the dinner.
