Ace broadcaster, Tunji Ajibade has been appointed as the Manager of CROWTHER 88.5 FM, Oyo, by the management of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo.
His appointment was confirmed in a Facebook post by Sunday Saanu, a media aide in the institution.
Ajibade, a highly experienced, and thoroughbred broadcaster, is a 1988 graduate of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Ọbáfẹ́mi Awólọ́wọ̀ University, Ile-Ifẹ.
He started his broadcasting career at the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA 12, Abẹ́òkúta in 1988 as a youth corps member. His impressive performance during the service year earned him instant employment at the NTA, Abẹ́òkúta after the mandatory one year service.
He was later sponsored for various broadcasting professional courses at NTA Television College, Rayfield, Jos.
Moving on, Ajibade resigned voluntarily at NTA 12 Abeokuta and joined Galaxy Television, Òkè Àrẹ, Ibadan, the first private television station in Nigeria as a Producer/Presenter.
At Galaxy TV, he created TALÓGAJÙ- a popular Yoruba TV Quiz/Gameshow and other interesting programmes. He is the first to introduce live musical performance into the Yoruba Quiz TV show.
He has attended various professional seminars and workshops including the ones organised by the United State Information Service (USIS).
The seasoned broadcaster rose to the post of Head of Programmes and Production before he resigned voluntarily at Galaxy TV, Ibadan on January 15, 2006, after ten years of professional stints and joined the University of Ibadan’s Diamond 101.1 FM in 2008, as an Independent Producer/Presenter.
Attracted by his intellectual profundity and professional prodigy, Ajibade was appointed Special Assistant, Media, by the immediate past Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi in his first term.
In September 2019, he joined SPACE 90.1 FM and AFROSPACE TV, Ibadan as the General Manager.
AJIBADE who is currently a PhD student at the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, University of Ibadan has authored many books, including:
