Nigerian Writer and PR Practitioner, Yishau Shuaib in a Facebook post on February 21 paid tribute to foremost Corporate Communication and Public Relations in Africa, Mallam Kabir Dangogo FNIPR on his 70th birthday.

Shuaibu aptly described Dangogo as one of the finest and doyen of the profession in the post titled HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PR FELLOW @70

“He hardly celebrates his Birthday. But today February 21, 2019 is his 70th Birthday, ” said Shuaibu who was delighted to receive Dangogo on February 20.

Born on February 21, 1949, Mallam Kabir Dangogo graduated from Ohio University, Athens, USA, 1981 and University of Leicester UK 1987. He was Managing Editor New Nigerian Newspapers 1988-89; Senior Lecturer, Kaduna Polytechnic, 1989-90; Press Adviser, United States Information Service, 1990; AGM, Bank of the North, 1991-95 and was at Union Bank 1995-2005.

After 32 years of working experience, with 27 spent in the communication business, Mallam Kabir Dangogo voluntarily retired Union Bank on June 26, 2005 as AGM Corporate Affairs.

He is a member of several professional bodies across the globe. In 1981, he was elected a Fellow of the International Radio and Television Society (IRTS) New York; founding President of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) 1986-1988. In 1996, he received the NIPR President’s Award for Excellence in Public Relations; Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) 2000; Fellow of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) 2005; Received the Lagos State Chapter of the NIPR Award for Excellence in PR 2005; Received the Capital Market Correspondents Association Award for Best Media Relations 2005; He was Secretary-General of the Federation of African Public Relations Associations (FAPRA) 2002-2006 and Chairman, Nigeria Chapter of the International Public Relations Associations (IPRA) 2002-2006.
