Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell milk, and organisers of the prestigious Promasidor Quill Media Awards has invited entries for the 2015/16 edition.
Seven categories of the award which are available for interested journalists this year are as follows:
1. Best Report on Children and Nutrition
2. Best CSR & Industry Report of the Year
3. Education Reporter of the Year
4. Best Photo Story of the Year
5. Future Writer of the Year
6. Brand Advocate of the Year
7. Best Online Reporter of the Year
Entries for this year is open from 14th January to 30th April with publications from 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
For each of the categories, there will be one PRIME winner. Winners from each of the categories with the exception of the winner of the Best Photo Story of the Year will be given high-end laptops while the winner of the Best Photo Story of the Year will be given a high-end camera.
The overall winner of all categories will proceed on a four week certificate course in Journalism at the highly acclaimed Thompson Foundation in the U.K. In addition, winners will receive supplies of Promasidor Products.
CRITERIA BY CATEGORY
The award categories are listed below and participants must adhere to the following rules that guide each category:
BEST REPORT ON CHILDREN AND NUTRITION
Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit two or three well researched articles on children and nutrition related feature articles published in the print media between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
BEST CSR & INDUSTRY REPORT OF THE YEAR
Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit two or three well researched articles on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability by corporate bodies in Nigeria. Such articles should have been published in the print media between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
EDUCATION REPORTER OF THE YEAR
Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit two or three well researched feature articles on Education in Nigeria published in the print media between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
BEST PHOTO STORY OF THE YEAR
Photo Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit two or three photo stories that have been published in the print media between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
FUTURE WRITER OF THE YEAR
Future Writer of the Year is a special category that accommodates and particularly encourages young and upcoming writers. This is mainly targeted at student writers and journalists that have their works published between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
BRAND ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR
Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit all news stories they published in the print media on Promasidor’s product brands and corporate brand between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
BEST ONLINE REPORTER OF THE YEAR
Journalists (or third party making the nomination) are encouraged to submit two or three well researched online articles without printed versions on any topic published online between 1st May, 2015 and 14th April, 2016.
+CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION
All winning entries for the different award categories should meet the following criteria:
CONTENT
The focus must be on the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Sector and Industry in general.
All written articles must be in-depth and informative.
The article must have the content that can engage its readers.
CREATIVITY
The style of the material submitted must be innovative.
The material must demonstrate originality and relevance.
WELL CRAFTED
The material submitted must be well researched and accurate as at the time it was published.
The material submitted must be well structured.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES
Two to Three entries per category.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTING WINNERS
The criteria for selecting the winning entries for the different award categories are as follows:
SPECIFY CLEARLY AWARD CATEGORY
All participants should endeavour to specify clearly the award category entered for when filling the online form.
Also participants should endeavour that all attachments are in the appropriate file format and meet the requirements.
