AFP is looking for an experienced and self-motivated and reporter in it Lagos bureau to specialize in fact-checking.
According to a tweet by the organization “ The successful candidate will be AFP’s first fact check reporter in Nigeria.”
“This post is part of a growing network of AFP journalists around the world fighting the spread of fake news and offers a unique opportunity to shape a vital new role for the agency.
“You will have an excellent knowledge of Nigeria current affairs and how disinformation/misinformation is spread.
“Aside from monitoring news, photos and videos, we will be looking to detect disinformation at it source whether it is in chat apps, discussion boards or other evolving communication platforms.
“Strong writing, multi-media, digital and investigative skills are required for the job. You will also be comfortable working in a fast paced and multi-media newsroom.
