LIKELY JOB OUTLINE AND SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION OFFICER’S POSITION
▪ Collaborate in the development of improved/updated tools, systems, processes, and databases.
▪ Design and drive key media campaigns
▪ Update information on the company’s website, ensuring that key campaigns are featured, multimedia including photos, podcasts and video content is coordinated for the website and ensuring the optimizing
of the processes required to absorb client and project inputs and deliver project outputs, including sound relationship management.
▪ Research, identify and produce content related to the organisation’s work and projects to create and showcase appropriate social media and web content that tells the story of the organisation’s work in a compelling and innovative way.
▪ Lead the design and deployment of multimedia content across all media channels and platforms to successfully drive engagement and impact with key stakeholders.
▪ Work closely with technical, regional, and country teams to identify and commission content around key events and knowledge products for greater outreach across all media platforms.
▪ Develop a media strategy and press contacts, in preparation and during project implementations
▪ Manage system process to improve access and equitable coverage of organisations projects and include innovative programming towards fast-tracking results.
▪ Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain the organisation’s database.
▪ Establish and maintain effective and efficient content resource scheduling and workflow management systems and processes for the website.
▪ Participate in technical meetings, coordination platforms on community engagement/mobilization.
▪ Impressive story-telling capacity and ability to link projects to beneficiaries, lessons and impact
▪ Demonstrated understanding of the media and its workings in relation to the Nigerian polity, regional trends and global affairs
▪ Proven technical knowledge of a wide range of multimedia, web and digital tools is required,
▪ Outstanding article writing and editing skills.
▪ Verifiable competence with the use of social media platforms for organisations
▪ Developed understanding of needs of media and public audiences, preferably with NGO relevant approach.
▪ Great interpersonal skills
