Five Nigerian journalists have clinched top honours in the 2022 edition of the Sanlam Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism, recently held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Proving their mettle among their peers from across Africa, the outstanding Nigerian journalists are Ronald Adamolekun of Premium Times who won the ‘African Growth Story’ category and Damilola Olufemi of The Punch, the ‘Best Newcomer Award,’ category.
Others are Justice Nwafor, from the BNN Network, the ‘ESG’ category, showcasing his prowess in Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting, Kingsley Jeremiah of The Guardian was the First Runner-up in the ‘African Growth Story’ category, further cementing the nation’s standing as a formidable force in financial journalism. and Destiny Onyemihia, from the Voice of Nigeria, the Second Runner-up in the competitive ‘Broadcast: Audio’ category.
Salam Awards is a platform dedicated to honouring outstanding talent in print, online, radio, and television media. The awards are exclusively bestowed upon those who are based in Africa and contribute their insightful work to the continent. According to #SanlamAwards this edition is the 48th anniversary of the awards.
