The number of online newspapers in the country increased by one in the new year with the launch of  posteritymediang.com  

Founded by an award-winning journalists,  O’Femi Kolawole, posteritymediang.com, according to the Publisher/CEO, is a platform created to further contribute to the greatness of Nigeria and engage the people.

“We will be strong on human-interest stories as well as investigative reports. As we strive to inform, educate, and entertain our readers, we will also set agenda for the nation,” Kolawole said in a statement.

He explained that the site is a platform for intellectuals in business, civil society, government and the academia, but most importantly, young Nigerians whose voice the newspaper according to him, aims to activate like never before.

The publisher explained that posteritymediang.com will deliver quality reporting which Nigerians can trust and intellectually stimulate and engage different categories of citizens whether home or abroad.

“At POSTERITY MEDIA, we will produce interesting and engaging content that people will be happy and proud to read.

“Our pledge to Nigerians is to be independent and practice ‘journalism in the public interest’ at all times without fear or favour,” Kolawole said pledged.

Kolawole served as the pioneer Programme Director of Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF) between November 2016 and December 2017 and was a columnist on TheCable online newspaper.

Kolawole, who was  an intern at the defunct  THEWEEK magazine in 2001, also reported for BrandFaces Marketing Journal. He is the author of Maximising Internship Potentials, and The Gatekeepers, a book on Nigeria’s newspaper editors.

Between 2006 and 2008, he worked at Journalists Against AIDS (JAAIDS) Nigeria, a multi-award-winning media NGO, as Programme Associate, Research and Communication.

In the position, Kolawole produced stories for Access Alert newsletter and was responsible for writing content-analysis reports on HIV/AIDS stories published in the Nigerian media as part of the organisation’s monthly media monitoring service. He was also in charge of organizing roundtables where HIV/AIDS activists, government officials and civil society groups working on HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health, share their field experiences with journalists.

He is the convener of POSTERITY MEDIA BUSINESS FORUM (PMBF), a platform which brings together leaders and professionals from the public and private sectors, the academia, civil society and the media to discuss and proffer creative ideas towards solving Nigeria’s development and socio-economic challenges, and has also facilitated trainings within and outside Nigeria.

Kolawole, who studied Mass Communication at The Polytechnic Ibadan, is an alumnus of the Creative Lives Programme of the British Council, Pan Atlantic University (PAU) and the University of Glamorgan, UK.
